I completed my new documentary project: Still Here, in collaboration with RFG Media.
This project tells the stories of Syrians living in the Netherlands as they navigate the journey of integration.
Still Here – It’s not just a title. It’s my way of saying: we did not disappear.
We live, we remember, and we rebuild ourselves.
These images tell the stories of those who wake up each day in a foreign land, carrying both what they’ve lost and what they hope to become.
Mijn project heet “Still Here”.
Met mijn foto’s wil ik laten zien hoe het leven is na het verlaten van het asielzoekerscentrum.
Ik vertel de verhalen van Jihad en Ola, twee Syriërs die elk op hun eigen manier proberen een nieuw leven op te bouwen.
De foto’s laten zien dat integratie niet makkelijk is, maar ook dat er hoop, kracht en menselijkheid zijn.
Voor mij is fotografie niet alleen kunst, maar een manier om mijn eigen reis en gevoelens te delen.
